Joining the US military can give you the education and training that you need not only to pursue military jobs as a soldier, but also other careers as a civilian. Many people take the hands on training that they get in the air force, national guard, navy, marines, and US army and apply them to careers in technological fields. In order to make sure that you will get the kinds of training and education that you need during your active or reserve duty as a soldier, you will need to talk to recruiting experts from different branches of the US military before your enlistment. The US armed forces branch that you choose really depends on what your interests are and why you want to serve your country. Some people enlist just because they want the training and education that they get as a soldier in the air force, navy, marines, and army, but others sign up for active duty because they feel that it is the patriotic thing to do. Even if you are signing up because you feel that it is your duty to your country, that does not mean that you should not consider the US military branch that can give you the job skills that you need to pursue a military or civilian career after you have served. Ask the recruiters what types of training and education they can offer you. When they mention something that sounds interesting to you, be sure to note that so that you can consider it later on after you have gotten info from all of the recruiters.
